IMPORTANT UPDATE:
PATRONS MUST BYO SINGLE FOLD UP CHAIR TO THIS EVENT.
Due to the overwhelming response from patrons about not being able to bring a chair, we have worked closely with our site crew overnight to determine what can be done. To that end, patrons must now BYO single fold up chair. Please do NOT bring large couch style chairs, beanbags, low back chairs or picnic blankets.
We listened to you and we understand that you want to BYO chairs! Thanks for your patience. Note that we can no longer provide chairs - please BYO chair, as standing will not be allowed.
WHY WAS THE SEATING ARRANGEMENT CHANGED IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Originally, we had to comply with COVID rules that prevented us from allowing people to bring a chair. The only option was to provide patrons with a plastic pippie chair. To us, that didnt seem right, as these chairs are thin and extremely uncomfortable. Also, we have staged many concerts at Fremantle Prison, and alot of them were “standing” shows (Xavier Rudd, Tex Perkins, Birds of Tokyo etc). We honestly thought patrons would prefer to stand (pub concert style) rather than sit in plastic chairs. Boy, did we get that wrong! The bottom line is that we have listened to our patrons and we have decided we will allow patrons to BYO single fold up chair.
Please note that there are some undulating surfaces at Fremantle Prison - some grassed areas and some concrete pathway areas. Ushers will be on hand to assist in getting you seated so everyone can be seated comfortably. As this is not a reserved seating arrangement, its first in, best dressed.
