The Jane Barnes Band got it’s start as a family project when lockdown began in March and Jane and Jimmy wanted to reach out to people who were struggling with isolation and let them know they were not alone.
Rather than do the songs Jimmy wrote or sang every night, they concentrated on doing songs they felt might touch people in a different way. The performances are done by Jane, who has been teaching herself guitar as she goes along, and Jimmy singing and occasionally joining in on Bagpipes. Every now and then another family member pops in to help and have some fun.
To mid-November, there has been over 48.8 million views of the videos and they’ve really struck a chord with fans. So as soon as their followers saw the t-shirt with Jane’s name on it, the shirts quickly became a hot ticket with the first print run selling out within 24 hours. People started posting photos of themselves wearing The Jane Barnes Band shirt and this was when the band was really born.
The Jane Barnes Band is about sharing the love of music. No big productions here, but there’s a good chance you can catch a glimpse of the hope and love she feels for her family. She shares it every night with anyone who needs a lift.
