Due to overwhelming demand from fans, internationally acclaimed musician Xavier Rudd is excited to announce additional dates for his Freedom Sessions Australia Tour.

The spectacular new show in WA, sees Xavier Rudd return to the courtyard of the iconic Fremantle Prison, promising an unforgettable experience filled with timeless classics and exciting new sounds from his latest EP, Freedom Sessions.

In 2025, Xavier’s already intricate solo show is set to evolve, with the incredible Lisa Purmodh joining as a second multi-instrumentalist. Together they’ll create a mesmerising performance filled with multi-instrumental mastery, complex live looping, and immersive soundscapes that will take the show to a whole new level and redefine the live music experience.

The Prison Tour is an optional add-on to either a General Admission or Premium GA Ticket.

Prior to the concert, join the Fremantle Prison Highlights Tour; a 30-minute tour that provides visitors with an insight into the past of Fremantle Prison, taking guests through the Main Cell Block, Solitary Confinement and Gallows. Find out how a convict-built prison transformed into Western Australia’s primary place of incarceration for men, women and children, from its construction in the 1850s to a maximum-security gaol from 1887 to 1991. With an experienced guide leading the way, walk back in time and learn about the daily routine of prisoners and the realities of life on the inside of WA’s only World Heritage-listed building. Wheelchair accessibility: 100%

Tours will be conducted in small groups and will begin from around 5.00pm. Ticket holders will be notified prior to the concert about the best time to arrive at the venue.

Over the years, his dynamic live performances have evolved from full band and trio showcases to his current internationally acclaimed one-man band format.

Expanding now upon what has proven to be the most intricate solo show of his career, where Xavier seamlessly juggles multiple instruments, intricate live looping and immersive soundscapes, the amazing Lisa Purmodh will join Xavier on stage in 2025 as a second multi-instrumentalist, taking his live show to a whole new level.

FINOJET

Finojet is a dynamic musician with a natural-born stage presence. As lead singer of Calypso Cora, he debuted a genre-blending sound that fuses Brit rock with ska reggae, delivering heart-pounding riffs and ethereal soundscapes. The Northern Rivers, NSW-based band quickly gained prominence with their self-titled debut EP, performing alongside artists like Xavier Rudd, Ben Lee, and The Cruel Sea. 

Now launching his solo career, Finojet blends indie rock and folk, and will join his father, Xavier Rudd, as a supporting act on the Freedom Sessions Australia Tour in April 2025. With passion and dedication, Finojet is set to forge an extraordinary musical path.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD TO THIS EVENT?

Yes, you can. This event is all ages but please note that patrons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must pay the full ticket price.

Babies under the age of 2 are permitted free of charge without a ticket. No prams/strollers.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

No BYO alcohol food or drinks.

Licenced venue - food and drinks available for sale.

This event is standing only. Seating will not be provided and patrons are not permitted to BYO chair, blankets etc.

We play rain or shine.

No cameras, umbrellas, or other implements.

Gates open at 5.30PM. Please be aware there may be queues to enter the venue for the first part of the evening.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

For patrons in a wheelchair, there will be an accessible viewing area. There are two accessible viewing areas: For Premium GA ticketholders it is located at the front of the Premium GA area, and for General Admission ticketholders it is located at the front of the General Admission area.

VENUE CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

Fremantle Prison is a World Heritage site and must be respected at all times.

Visitors to Fremantle Prison should note that the surfaces you walk on are not always even. Please watch your step.

No shoes, no shirt, no entry.

Fremantle Prison is strictly a non-smoking site.

Fremantle Prison accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from a visit or whilst on the premises.

It is a condition of entry that visitors observe all signs and follow instructions by Fremantle Prison staff.

Fremantle Prison retains the right to deny access and/or remove visitors who are being a public nuisance, acting recklessly, or failing to observe directions from Fremantle Prison staff or signage.

Strictly no BYO alcohol, and no smoking.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase at the venue. You cannot bring your own food.

No pass outs.

PARKING INFORMATION

A paid car park catering for over 60 vehicles is located directly outside Fremantle Prison, The Terrace via Fothergill Street.

Another large paid car park is located at the bottom of Fairbairn Ramp, accessible via Parry Street.

There are two ACROD parking bays located in City of Fremantle car park #29 (The Terrace) and three located in City of Fremantle car park #1 (Parry St).

Both car parks are managed by the City of Fremantle and parking fees apply.

WHEN DO I ARRIVE IF I HAVE BOOKED THE PRISON TOUR?

If you have purchased a Prison Tour as part of the concert experience, you will be contacted regarding timings and other details (approximately a week prior to the show).
