Paul Kelly has been writing songs, making records and touring for over forty years. Along the way he has released over 40 albums, including live concerts, compilations and soundtracks. He has collaborated with many other artists, notably writing Treaty with Yothu Yindi and co-producing Archie Roach’s landmark debut album Charcoal Lane. His awards, too numerous to mention, include 17 ARIAs and an Order of Australia. He has published several books, including collections of his lyrics, a memoir How To Make Gravy and an anthology of his favourite poems Love Is Strong As Death. Paul’s songs have a way of digging into the country in a way that few artists do - how it looks, feels, tastes, sounds. The joys and sorrows, achievements and follies. If you want to know something about Australia, how it feels to be Australian, you can find it in his songs. His live shows in recent years reveal a performer and band at the peak of their powers. Few artists have touched our lives as much as Paul Kelly. Now Paul Kelly is coming to play in the courtyard of the Fremantle Prison for an amazing night under the stars.
Before headlining the sold-out Red Hot Summer event, PAUL KELLY will be heading to Fremantle with special guests VIKA & LINDA. This exceptional performance is set to be an unforgettable evening in an iconic Freo location, with local beverages and food trucks on hand and stacks of stellar Aussie live music.
This is an 18+ only event - no children are permitted (including babies).
OPTIONAL PRISON TOUR ADD-ON
The Prison Tour is an optional add-on to either a General Admission or Premium GA Ticket.
Prior to the concert, join the Fremantle Prison Highlights Tour; a 30-minute tour that provides visitors with an insight into the past of Fremantle Prison, taking guests through the Main Cell Block, Solitary Confinement and Gallows. Find out how a convict-built prison transformed into Western Australia’s primary place of incarceration for men, women and children, from its construction in the 1850s to a maximum-security gaol from 1887 to 1991. With an experienced guide leading the way, walk back in time and learn about the daily routine of prisoners and the realities of life on the inside of WA’s only World Heritage-listed building. Tours will be conducted in small groups and will begin from around 5.00pm. Ticket holders will be notified prior to the concert about the best time to arrive at the venue.
VIKA & LINDA
Vika & Linda’s effortless harmonies and journey through rock, country, gospel, reggae, R&B, soul and blues, while always paying tribute to their rich Tongan heritage, has earned the respect and admiration of their greatest fans – the renowned Australian artists they’ve performed and recorded with, and whose work their voices have enhanced. Paul Kelly says “Their voices combined sound salty-sweet and have that elusive twinned quality you only get when siblings sing together ... They make the air beat in sync.” In September 2021, Vika & Linda released The Wait, their first original studio album since 2002. It debuted at #2 on the ARIA chart. The Wait has continued a triumphant period for Vika & Linda which saw them score their first number one album with their career anthology, ‘Akilotoa, and three months later a #2 debut for their gospel collection, Sunday (The Gospel According To Iso).

PARKING INFORMATION
A paid car park catering for over 60 vehicles is located directly outside Fremantle Prison, The Terrace via Fothergill Street. Another large paid car park is located at the bottom of Fairbairn Ramp, accessible via Parry Street. There are two ACROD parking bays located in City of Fremantle car park #29 (The Terrace) and three located in City of Fremantle car park #1 (Parry St). Both car parks are managed by the City of Fremantle and parking fees apply.
