LATE LINE-UP CHANGES DUE TO JIMMY BARNES ILLNESS
Unfortunately, Jimmy Barnes is still hospitalized in Sydney with a bacterial infection, so on Doctor’s orders he will not be able to join his mates The Living End, Birds of Tokyo, Pete Murray and Kasey Chambers at Torquay’s By The C tomorrow, Saturday December 2.
However, ticket holders are still in for a treat with some big last-minute additions to this already star-studded line-up.
Firstly, Jimmy’s mate Jon Stevens has agreed to step in and perform a set that includes Noiseworks and INXS hits.
Then in a unique climax to the show, Jimmy’s whole live band will be fronted by Oz Rock royalty including Jon Stevens, Daryl Braithwaite, Mahalia Barnes, David Campbell and Jimmy’s legendary bandmate Ian Moss, plus some other big surprise guests, performing a very special set of classic songs by Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes.
“I know a lot of people travel a long way for this gig so I’m really sorry that I won’t be able to see you in Torquay as I’d hoped”, said Jimmy. “This infection has knocked me for six so there’s no chance that the Doctors will let me out of bed for the next few days. I’d like to thank my dear friends Mossy, Jon and Darryl plus my wonderful kids Mahalia and David for putting together this unique show with my live band. It’s never been done before so I wish I could be there to see it myself! Again, I’d like to apologize to everyone – if I could be there I would be there - but it’s still going to be a helluva show.”

The Living End an Australian punk rock band that have released eight studio albums and had two No. 1 debuts on the Australian Albums ARIA Chart. The Living End are one of Australia’s most ferocious live acts, consistently headlining festivals around the country. Their blistering live performances have earned the band an enviable position of one of Australia’s greatest live bands.
BIRDS OF TOKYO
Birds of Tokyo have grown from independent roots to become one of this country’s most popular rock bands. The Perth five-piece have released three chart-topping albums driven by top 10 hits like ‘Good Lord’, ‘Plans’, ‘Unbreakable” and ‘Lanterns’. One of Triple J’s three most played artists of this millennium, they are also the only artist in history to win 'Rock Work of the Year' on five separate occasions at the APRA Awards. Birds Of Tokyo’s songs have become a soundtrack for contemporary Australia.
PETE MURRAY
Multi-platinum selling Pete Murray has released 7 albums and 2 EPs over an impressive career and is one of only a few Australian artists with over 1.2 million album sales under his belt, receiving 17 ARIA nominations throughout his career. Murray’s first three albums all reached #1 on the Australian music charts and his first album FEELER reached number 1 and remained in the Top 100 for two and a half years. BEST OF is a collection of Murray’s most popular singles of the past 20 years.
KASEY CHAMBERS
There’s a moment in most artists’ young lives when they realise music will shape their future and define who they are. Kasey Chambers didn’t have to wait for that moment to arrive. Music is part of her DNA. The Captain (1999) remains one of the most extraordinary and lauded debuts by an Australian artist in any genre with a wealth of Americana-styled musical influences, yet the album has Australia and family at its core. Greater success was to follow with Barricades & Brickwalls (2001), Wayward Angel (2004) and further successful albums followed.
MAHALIA BARNES & THE SOULMATES
Born into Australian rock royalty and influenced by the music her father, Jimmy Barnes, recorded and played, Mahalia naturally began singing at a very young age. As an artist, she’s drawn to guitar-driven gutsy soul, rock and blues, and is inspired by acts like Ike and Tina Turner and legendary queen of soul Aretha Franklin. Before the pandemic shut down so much of the live performance industry, Mahalia Barnes and The Soul Mates toured Australia non-stop, playing supports as well as playing festivals and headline shows of their own.

Tickets are to be purchased online prior to the event and tickets will be sent via email. One box office will be in operation and located near the main entrance where, if relevant, you can collect your ticket or speak to a Ticketmaster representative.

There will be no ATM on site so please bring credit or debit card for cashless payments.
WILL SEATING BE PROVIDED?
Seating is not provided for this event for any ticket category. Patrons are permitted to bring a portable, high back fold up chair. This is roughly the size of a normal height chair. No picnic blankets or low back (low to the ground) chairs.
WHERE CAN I SMOKE?
Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the venue, with the exception of designated smoking areas.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
The concert will proceed rain or shine. Only exceptionally severe weather conditions will affect the performance, so be prepared for either scenario.
WHERE DO I GO IF I HAVE A PREMIUM TICKET?
You will have your own dedicated area closest to the stage to sit - please BYO high back fold-up chair. Please look out for signage after you enter the venue.
You will also have dedicated entry to the event, and access to a dedicated bar lane. Look out for signage indicating these areas.
WHAT TRANSPORT IS AVAILABLE?

WHERE CAN I PARK?
Please note there will be no public parking. We suggest you use public transport, taxi, or rideshare.
IS THERE ACCESSIBLE PARKING?
Parking for wheelchair patrons is not always assured, however in the absence of parking close to the gates, alternatives will be provided. We strongly advise that you notify the ticketing agent, when purchasing your ticket, if you are in a wheelchair or need assistance, so we can contact you prior to the event.
IS THERE AN ACCESSIBLE AREA?
Our outdoor concert sites are predominantly flat grass parkland and in some cases beach areas, and at times, part of the venue can be soft and boggy. For patrons in a wheelchair, there will be an accessible viewing area. However, being accompanied by a carer is recommended. On show day, our customer service staff will be available if you need assistance in accessing the concert site. We strongly advise that you notify the ticketing agent, when purchasing your ticket, if you are in a wheelchair or need assistance, so we can contact you prior to the event.
ACCESSIBLE AREA: The Accessible Area is at the back of the Premium GA section with a dedicated area and Accessible toilet. Note that there is no platform.

ZERO TOLERANCE ON ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES AND UNDERAGE DRINKING
We have a zero-tolerance policy on illegal substances and drugs. Anyone suspected of using or found in possession of illegal substances or drugs will be escorted from the grounds and handed over to the police. Undercover police officers may also be actively searching for offenders.
We also have a zero-tolerance policy on underage drinking. Parents and legal guardians - If your child is caught drinking, we’ll confiscate your drinks, escort you from the festival and call the police. Please don’t make us do this.
COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
We want all our patrons to have a great time at our concerts. That’s what concerts are all about. We actively support and promote equality, diversity and inclusion and strive for our concerts and events to be a place of belonging.
But we take bad behaviour seriously.
Bullying, fighting, inappropriate touching of others, throwing items on stage, or verbal abuse are all clearly abhorrent and unacceptable. No person should ever have to endure this type of behaviour by others when they are attending a concert and simply trying to have a great time. We take various measures at our concerts to keep patrons as safe as possible.
We ensure that security staff that are posted to dancing and “mosh pit” areas have a heightened awareness of bad behaviour.
COVID SAFE EVENT
Our events will be run in accordance with applicable Government directions, orders, regulations or guidance associated with COVID-19 in place at the time of the event, which are fluid and may change.
Refunds are only available in limited circumstances as set out in, and subject to, the Ticketmaster Purchase Policy (such as in the event of a cancellation or reschedule) or where required by applicable law. Complying with any government mandates or public health orders in place at the time of the event or the inability to attend due to illness or other change in personal circumstances does not render a patron eligible for a refund or exchange.
All events will be compliant with directions of each state’s Health Department. Should any of our events be unable to proceed on the original advertised date, they will be rescheduled to a planned backup date. All ticket holders will be advised directly in the event that there is a postponement or cancellation.
